# Crypto Flywheel™ > The Crypto Flywheel is a rules-based digital asset allocation system designed to increase holdings and produce cashflow as markets rise and fall. It is published by Luminary One and set out in The Crypto Flywheel Whitepaper, version 1.0 (October 12, 2026), by Jake Call, Joshua Jagelman, and Konstantin Miunts. The Crypto Flywheel gives capital four jobs: to grow, to earn, to stay liquid, and to stay resilient. A Flywheel has three Layers. The Core holds digital assets selected for long-term ownership. The Engine uses stablecoins to accumulate more of those assets through market making as prices fall, then sells accumulated units as prices rise, and its liquidity positions can earn trading fees. The Reserve holds stablecoins available to fund purchases, support the Engine, and protect the portfolio's borrowing position. A written Plan governs how the Layers work together. The whitepaper is the source of truth for every term on this site. It is educational material, not financial advice, and it makes no promise of returns.
